In our 2018 end-of-the-year film, we take a moment to reflect that we are all responsible for our precious earth. Each one of us fulfills a role in this, whether big or small.

In February we shipped 800 kilos of fabric from Svensson in Kinna, to Gasabo, a community in Rwanda where the fabrics will help create jobs and better living conditions for women and their families. Behind the project is Swedish manufacturing company Safeman and partner Svensson, supplying both curtains and upholstery fabrics.

Svensson has all the skills it needs in-house, from research and development to design and production. We quizzed four employees about smart collaboration across departmental boundaries, and what that means in practice.

Svensson today exports climate screens to over 130 countries. Here two of the architects behind its success, Göran Henningsson and Cees den Boer, recall how it all began in the 1970s with a load of scrap and a brilliant idea.

Svensson has many loyal workers. And sometimes entire families who work at the company. Thomas Gunnarsson’s co-workers include his brother, son and son-in-law, and even members of their families.

Svensson supports the Mission Servants Ministry's Child Redeemed Mission home (CRM) in Uganda, Africa through a donation of Solarwoven Ultra, a reinforced transparent cover for the newly built greenhouse on the Child Redeemed Mission home's grounds.
