A workplace rooted in heritage, designed for the future

At Lantmännen’s headquarters in Stockholm, Nordisk Kombination Arkitekter has transformed an existing office into a contemporary workplace that reflects the company’s Swedish roots and international presence. Through a considered approach to colour, materials and spatial design, Svensson textiles contribute to an interior where tradition and modern ways of working meet.

Spanning approximately 7,500 square metres, Lantmännen’s renewed headquarters on Sankt Göransgatan brings together different aspects of the company’s identity. Rather than starting from scratch, Nordisk Kombination Arkitekter worked with the building’s existing structure, adapting the spaces to support new needs while preserving elements of their history.

The design draws inspiration from the Swedish agricultural landscape. Earthy shades of terracotta, ochre and green are combined with oak details, textured surfaces and textiles that interact with daylight. Architectural references to fields, straw bales and agricultural buildings create a subtle connection to Lantmännen’s heritage.

At the same time, more representative areas introduce a refined material palette, reflecting the company's international business and the different environments needed within a modern headquarters.

Textiles as part of the design

Throughout the interior, Svensson textiles Day, Mint, Core, Salt, Grain and Basal contribute different textures, colours and expressions.

The textiles complement the natural materials and carefully considered colour palette, adding softness, depth and variation throughout the interior. Their different textures and expressions create subtle contrasts with the architectural elements, reinforcing the connection between the agricultural references and the contemporary design.

The project also incorporates existing furniture and interior elements, combining them with new additions and adapted solutions. Reconfigured layouts, additional meeting and focus rooms, and shared spaces create opportunities for both individual work and collaboration.

The result is a contemporary workplace shaped by Lantmännen’s identity, where thoughtful material choices and architectural details create an environment for both focused work and collaboration.

The project has also been nominated for Sweden’s Best Looking Office 2026 (Sveriges Snyggaste Kontor).
