Smooth cultivation at Soepele Teelt thanks to new climate screen Luxous 1147 FR

In the Netherlands, greenhouse grower Soepele Teelt recently upgraded its climate control strategy by installing Svensson’s Luxous 1147 FR energy screen. The goal was to increase light transmission while optimizing energy use and greenhouse climate, particularly during cooler months. This testimonial outlines the experience and early results from the new screen installation.

Finding the right climate screen

Soepele Teelt grows a variety of vegetable crops under glass. The team had been evaluating options to improve their greenhouse climate — searching for a solution that would increase light availability, reduce energy loss, and support stable cultivation conditions throughout the year.

After comparing different products, they decided to install Luxous 1147 FR, an energy-saving climate screen designed to provide high light transmission combined with thermal insulation properties.     

“We chose this climate screen because it gives us more light while still helping us save energy,” said the grower. “That balance was key for us.”

Early results in production

Since installing the Luxous 1147 FR screen, the team has observed improvements in light distribution within the greenhouse. The increased light availability has contributed to more uniform crop growth and a more consistent working climate during variable weather.

“In the period after installation, we noticed that light levels were better balanced in the greenhouse,” the grower explains. “This has helped us achieve a smoother growing process.”

During cooler seasons, the screen has also helped retain heat, reducing the need for supplemental heating and improving overall energy efficiency.
