MAY 2023
Wilfred Barendse is a loyal Svensson customer with Red Harvest. He recently had our premium Luxous 1147 H2no FR screen installed. Alweco carried out the installation in one of the four greenhouses of the tomato and cucumber grower with 30 hectares of glass in Middenmeer. A great project to highlight. Why did Wilfred choose this screen?
"We've always been sustainable. We prioritize quality. This screen is a prime example of that," says Wilfred, co-owner of Red Harvest . The special H2no technology in this Luxous screen prevents condensation. Water droplets flow out into a water film. "Once the water is gone, the screen can be closed sooner and stay closed longer." The result is significantly more light when condensation forms on the screen. This means higher production, but also more screen hours and therefore greater energy savings, as Wilfred explains.
Second installation in existing greenhouse
The Luxous 1147 H2no FR is a second installation in the greenhouse in question. "There's a blackout screen above. This screen can't stay closed for long, of course. The new screen can." The Luxous 1147 H2no FR is installed in one of Red Harvest's four greenhouses, covering 7.5 hectares. "We'll see how it goes first." Wilfred alternates between growing tomatoes and cucumbers for hygiene reasons, to prevent viruses. "For the first time, we're growing two by two, so two greenhouses of tomatoes and two greenhouses of cucumbers." So far, Wilfred is satisfied with the new installation, but he expects more from the spring. "Then we'll increase the screen hours and really see the results."

Collaboration between grower, installer and Svensson
The screen was installed by Alweco Scherminstallaties from Maasdijk during the crop rotation in the second half of 2022. Ramon Bol describes the pleasant collaboration. "We have a good connection and are on the same page. There was also a nice synergy between our installation team and the on-site staff." The various screen options were discussed in detail in the preliminary phase. "H2no was one of the screens we offered. Wilfred was interested. In a conversation with Wilfred and Bart Bakker (Svensson consultant), we further explained the screen's features. That's how we arrived at a good proposal quite quickly."
Curious what made it all work?
