Luxous Light at Nursery Jami, the Netherlands' first LED tomato grower

Progressive. That's how Michel Zwinkels, known as Jami Nursery, characterizes his entrepreneurial spirit and cultivation methods. He was the first Dutch vine tomato grower to switch to LED lighting, resulting in better-looking tomatoes and higher production. Together with Oxin Growers, he recently had SchermNed install Luxous Light FR.

"To save energy," Michel answers decisively when asked why Luxous Light was chosen. "We already have a blackout screen. To be more flexible with our screen hours and also use it during the day, we chose Luxous Light." At this time of year, the focus is primarily on saving energy. "Later, in spring and summer, we'll see what else we can do with it." He's confident about that; Michel is satisfied with the new screen. "We were already familiar with Svensson. The quality is simply good."

Good cooperation with SchermNed

SchermNed installed the climate screen. A great job, says John van Hasenbroek. "Michel is knowledgeable. We work very well together." John didn't need much advice when choosing the screen. "I'm always happy to let the customer tell me what they want, because every company has its own growing method." He understands the choice of Luxous Light FR. "It's a very light screen and fits well with the cultivation strategy, with about 13% shade and 47% energy savings."
