As early as the product development stage, it is important to take account of the criteria that need to be met under our environmental labelling schemes. The purchasing department needs to be involved at an early stage to ensure a supply chain is in place that requires verification and test results for a variety of parameters, depending on the composition of the fibres being used. We also need to bear in mind requirements in terms of the usability of the finished product.
