The family business Ludvig Svensson will acquire Väveriet Uddebo on the 1st of September, 2011. They are two prestigous textile companies that will merge, both producing textiles for the contract market in the form of curtains, upholstery and solar control.
With the acquisition of Väveriet Uddebo, we continue our focus on high-performing and functional textiles for the contract market. Our brand Svensson Markspelle will be augmented with a strong upholstery collection and new interesting customer segment, the transport sector. This makes us the leading player in our industry with majority of the production based in Sweden says Anne Ludvigson, President of Ludvig Svensson.
We are very pleased that our operations will remain local. Ludvig Svensson is a strong company that will continue to develop Väveriets brand in a positive way. Our employees will be offered a secure future, which is an important part of this deal comments Rolf Bengtsson, President of Väveriet Uddebo.
The operations in Uddebo will in due course be moved to Kinna in order to take advantage of the synergies that exist. All employees in Uddebo will be offered positions in Kinna.
