How to Order the Correct Width and Length

Width

Our standard screen widths are designed to fit most greenhouse section widths:

  Screen Width:
Meter / Feet

Suitable for Section Width:
Meter / Feet

  3.35 m / 11.0 ft (*) 3.00 – 3.20 m / 9.8 – 10.5 ft
  4.30 m / 14.1 ft 4.00 m / 13.1 ft
  4.70 m / 15.4 ft 4.50 m / 14.8 ft
  5.30 m / 17.4 ft 5.00 m / 16.4 ft
  5.70 m / 18.7 ft 5.40 m / 17.7 ft

(*) A 3.20 m/10.5 ft width requires a separate, fixed strip for proper closure of the screen

Length

A little extra length should be ordered so that the installed screen is long enough without being tensioned. We advise you to follow the guidelines below.

For all screen types: order at least 1.5% extra

Order Calculation:

  Net Greenhouse Size
+ 1.5% Overhang_____
= Number of Meters/Feet to Order

Sufficient overhang is important for correct installation. Keep in mind when it comes to overhang, it's easier to cut off extra material later than add extra.

We recommend the following overhang sizes at different screen lengths:

  Screen Length Size of Overhang
  10 - 50 meters/ 33 - 164 feet Min 0.7 meters / Min. 2.3 feet
  50 - 100 meters / 164 - 328 feet ±1 meter / ±1 3.28 feet
  > 100 meters / > 328 feet > 1 meter / 3.28 feet

Example:

A greenhouse with 6 trusses, truss length 8.00 meters:

6 x 8.00 m = 48.00 m - (0.10 m + 0.10 m) = 47.80 m + 1.5% = 48.52 meters

(Subtract 2 x 0.10 m because end wires are usually 0.10 m from the gable)

Overhang 2 x 0.7 meters

Total order length: 49.95 m
