telen&trends 2014 a huge succes

The Svensson telen&trends event 2014 on Thursday 3 April was a huge success. Around 120 growers found boundless inspiration.

With this annual event, Svensson aims to provide businesses in the horticultural sector with new and refreshing ideas which they can use to view their own (glasshouse horticulture) companies from a different perspective.

In the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam, Thursday April 3, around 120 top growers found the inspiration and motivation to think ‘out of the box’ about the future of their commercial operations. Ruud Koornstra is the Netherlands’ most sustainable entrepreneur. His vision of the future is crystal clear; the world is changing and we need to change too. If we do so, we can regard the future with rose-tinted spectacles!

Trend analyst Christine Boland emphasised the transition in society during her workshop. On the basis of four developments; New Start, Togetherness, (Hi)story and New Territories, Christine encouraged all of the participants to move with the transition and try to think and work differently. Renew, keep it simple, take the time to elaborate and tell your story (collaboratively), and broaden your scope. The growers who took part formed small groups to work on ideas that could suit their sector.

After a tour around the stunning, stately Van Nelle Factory, the day was concluded with a walking-dinner and a chance to evaluate the day and network with colleagues.
